Mike Carr is joining us as our newest Affiliate at Blue Marble Space. Michael Carr is a scientist with experience spanning academic research, pharmaceutical discovery, biotech, and bioelectronic medicine. He has held research roles at Johns Hopkins, GSK, and Galvani Bioelectronics, where he led disease biology programs, built neurophysiology capabilities, managed scientific teams, and developed collaborations with academic and contract research partners. Michael’s current work focuses on theoretical evolutionary biology, especially how pre-genetic molecular systems may generate, preserve, and stabilize meaningful information before the emergence of accurate replication. His recent computational work uses sequence-explicit protocell models to study compositional inheritance and the emergence of semantic structure in early evolution.
