I am a professional researcher, educator, or communicator. I want to join BMS so I can submit proposals as a Primary Investigator (PI) and/or serve as a mentor in the Young Scientist Program.

You can apply to join BMS as an Affiliate on one of two tracks: the Research Scientist track and the Science Communication & Education track.

You can reach out to one of our Affiliates and then apply to join BMS as a Visiting Scholar. Some Visiting Scholars may choose to later apply to join as an Affiliate if needed to serve as a PI on a proposal or as a mentor in the Young Scientist Program.

I am a graduate student. I want to work with a BMS Affiliate or join a BMS project.

You can reach out to one of our Affiliates and then apply to join BMS as a Visiting Scholar. Some Visiting Scholars may choose to later apply to join as an Affiliate after completing graduate studies, if needed to serve as a PI on a proposal or as a mentor in the Young Scientist Program.

I am an undergraduate student, or I have completed my undergraduate studies. I want to work with a BMS Affiliate or join a BMS project.

You can apply to join the BMS Young Scientist Program. Applications open each year in March, and the program operates from June through August. Some YSP research associates may chose to continue working with their Affiliate mentor by applying to join as a Visiting Scholar.

I am a high school student. I want to work with a BMS Affiliate or join a BMS project.

We do not offer any formal opportunities for K-12 students to join our organization at this time. You can subscribe to the BMS Insider to learn about opportunities that may arise for learners of all ages.

I just think space is inspiring and want to learn more!
