Jahnavi Sridhanya Sivar

She is an M.S. student in Geodata Science at Purdue University in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences. She earned her B.Tech. in Information Technology, during which she spent 18 months designing and building the science module of a Martian rover. Through this work, she gained hands-on experience in astrobiology, rock and mineral analysis, biosignature detection methods, and planetary exploration. Her undergraduate rover work also led her to participate in several international rover competitions, including the International Rover Design Challenge, University Rover Challenge, and European Rover Challenge, where her team earned awards and recognition for its work. At Purdue, she has continued developing these interests and was awarded the Outstanding GDSP Graduate Student Award along with research funding for 2026. Her current interests span geospatial science, planetary habitability, Martian subsurface environments, and biosignature preservation, with a focus on using remote sensing, GIS, and geophysical methods to study Earth and planetary systems.
