She worked with the NASA Open Science Data Repository Science Communications team to develop public-facing social media, videos, and graphic design content. She is also a recent graduate from the University of Washington, where she investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying a genetic risk variant for Type I diabetes in the adaptor protein gene SH2B3. During this time, she also worked on a project using a transgenic mouse model to explore the molecular pathways of sarcopenic obesity. Currently, she is continuing her work on sarcopenic obesity by evaluating the energy-sensing enzyme AMPK as a potential therapeutic target for sarcopenic obesity and other age-related musculoskeletal diseases.
