Dr. Man Seok Kim is an associate professor in the Department of Convergence Medicine at Kyung Hee University College of Medicine, affiliated with Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong, South Korea. His research integrates space biomedicine, in silico modeling, and computational biology, employing molecular approaches and AI-driven analysis to investigate how extreme environments like spaceflight reshape human physiology. As a member of the NASA GeneLab Analysis Working Group (AWG), he contributes to the international multi-omic characterization of spaceflight-induced biological changes. His research group focuses on the interactions between diseases and genetics, genomics, and phenotypes. They develop and analyze bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomic data, incorporating metabolic and molecular data modeling. Furthermore, his group drives numerous collaborative projects utilizing machine learning, deep learning, and probabilistic graphical networks to integrate genomics and systems biology for population-based genetic analyses.
