He is a medical student at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, with a research focus in transcriptomics and computational biology applied to space medicine. His work explores how gene expression data can reveal biological state, including how cells and tissues respond to disease, environmental stress, and extreme conditions. He is especially interested in using molecular signatures to understand human adaptation, vulnerability, and resilience in spaceflight-relevant environments. At Blue Marble Space, he joins Dr. Fathi Karouia to investigate microgravity as an accelerated model of human aging and neurodegeneration. A recurring theme in his work is the translation of molecular and multimodal health data into decision-making systems, particularly for autonomous medical care during long-duration exploration missions where real-time support from Earth is limited. He aims to become a flight surgeon for crewed exploration missions and contribute to medical systems that help sustain human health far from Earth.
