Taylor Michaels is a recent graduate of YSP. She holds a BIS in Biology and Anthropological Applications from Virginia Commonwealth University. During her time at VCU she explored geoarchaeology through field research in the Canary Islands, studying farming patterns of colonial-era settlers on El Hierro. Taylor also spent time as a preceptor in a microbiology lab, as well as volunteered in an archaeology lab. Attending an astrobiology course led to her currenting interests lying at the intersection of archaeology, biology, and space. She is a big advocate for interdisciplinary work and inclusion of the humanities.
