Zainab Fayyaz is a final-year student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she studies Physics and AI. She has always been curious about the origins, creation, and workings of the universe, and this naturally led her to develop a strong interest in space sciences. She has worked on computational research involving the cosmic web and dark matter haloes at BMS YSP 2026, and has also gained research experience previously through the MITACS program in Canada and at KEK’s QUP (Quantum Universe Physics) institute in Japan. At Blue Marble Space, her current research focuses on studying the relationship between cosmic-web connectivity and galaxy formation using cosmological N-body simulations. Apart from research, Zainab is particularly interested in space technology education, outreach, and accessibility. She has worked with both small and large-scale organisations in Hong Kong and beyond to make space science more accessible and engaging to wider communities.
