Dr. McCollom is a geochemist that studies fluid-rock interactions on Earth and throughout the solar system. His research encompasses laboratory experiments, theoretical modeling, and field work. Areas of focus include hydrogen-generating reactions including serpentinization, geologic sources of chemical energy that support biological activity, and the origin and fate of organic compounds in hydrothermal environments.
